Better tutorial for the colour war screen

The tutorial for the war screen doesnt really explain much except

"attack this colour and get these unnamed hexagons"

And then I lose pieces for no reason when all my defences are victories and it makes no sense along with being unable to keep more than 3 even thought I win a lot of battles... The game needs more explains because the war screen makes no sense
